Production Process h2 >
During the extrusion process the recycled PVC is heated up to 195 degrees, the molten PVC is then fed into the tool to form the profile of the gravel board or post. Once out of the tool the product is immersed in water to cool the PVC down. The water tank used is 6 meters long.
As you can imagine once heated to 195 degrees and even after being immersed in cold water, the profile still retains some ressdiual heat. When the product is packed the residdual heat can cause the products to sweat and this can cause a blotchy pattern as seen in the pictures. This is perfectly normal and after being in the sun and fresh air they will weather naturally. This is not a fault with the product just a side effect of the manufacturing process.
Before Picture
The boards can look blotchy or streaky due to the moisture, this is perfectly normal and this will disappear over time as the board naturally dry out. There is no timescale on this as it is completely dependent on the ambient temperatures and the amount of sun and wind.

After Picture
Once they have been in the sun and fresh air they will change to a uniform colour that will weather naturally like any product exposed to the elements. Th3se marks are not a defect and are caused by the manufacturing process and the extremely high temperatures involved. This is purely cosmetic and in no way affects the product integrity.

Watermarks F.A.Q
No watermarks are not a fault and are a natural part of the manufacturing process.
Yes watermark will go over time when the precast is in sun or fresh air, it just needs time to dry out.
No they in no way affect the life or performance of the product, they are purely cosmetic.
There is no set time that it takes, it all depends on the exposure to thew sun and the temperatures.

Typical Watermarks
Some boards can look like this depending on the storage and temperatures. This will all disappear over time as the board air naturally.

Nothing To Worry About
This is perfectly normal and once the product is installed and dried out the colour will stabilise and the marks will no longer be visible.
