Why Eco Fencing Is So Easy to Install

Eco fencing is designed to make fence installation faster, cleaner and far less complicated than traditional timber panels. Thanks to its modular, slot‑in system, eco composite fencing can be installed by professionals or confident DIYers with minimal tools and effort.

Modular Slot‑In Design

Eco fencing boards are installed by sliding them horizontally into slotted posts, rather than fixing whole panels in one go. This makes alignment easier and allows adjustments as you build.

Lightweight, Manageable Components

Individual boards are lighter and easier to handle than full timber panels, reducing strain and making installation simpler — especially in tight or awkward spaces.

Compatible with Concrete Posts

Eco fencing boards are fully compatible with existing concrete slotted posts, meaning you can upgrade from timber panels without removing posts or disturbing foundations.

Easy to Adjust Fence Height

Boards are stacked to reach the desired height, allowing you to easily customise fence height or step fencing on sloping ground.

Fewer Fixings Required

Most of the system relies on slot‑in components rather than excessive screws or nails, speeding up installation and creating a cleaner finish.

Tools You’ll Typically Need

Step‑by‑Step: How to Install Eco Fencing

Before installation, carefully measure your garden or boundary:

Step 1: Set the fence line and install posts

  • Mark out your fence line
  • Dig a suitable hole a minimum of 600mm
  • Install the posts in concrete at required centres
  • Ensure posts are vertical, level and secure
  • Tip: Accurate post alignment is key to a straight fence line.

Step 2: Fit the Gravel Board If Using Timber Panels

  • Slot in an eco composite board at ground level
  • This protects fencing boards from soil contact and moisture

Eco fencing is versatile so can be used with any type of fencing panel, its simple and easy to use.

  • Insert boards horizontally into the post slots
  • Stack boards evenly until the desired height is reached

FAQs

Whether you’re replacing old timber panels or installing a brand‑new fence, eco fencing offers a straightforward solution with professional results. It is lightweight and strong and easy for any competent DIY enthusiast.

Tools You’ll Typically Need

  • Spirit level

That’s it — no specialist tools required.

Ideally the Eco post should be concreted 600mm into the ground to produce the best results. We do however offer a bolt down ideal for the smaller fence of 4′ height maximum. These simply bolt to the concrete or flagged area to provide a secure foundation.

Eco posts are easily cut down with a simple handsaw or hacksaw. Please remember that the 24m and 2.7m posts will require the steel insert removing before cutting.
